The newly set IASCA world record IDBL filtered
@167dB and moving Upon concluding his phone call with
Mr. Harold Jaffee- IASCA president, Dave Rupp of (Audio Advisors in Alaska)
contacted us with the news; news of a new SPL record blah blah blah... At
first, we were not impressed since we hear about "a new record" every other
day. We know very little about the rules of sound offs, but believe me we know everything about amps and speakers. We were under the impression that the world record was somewhere in
the mid 170's, we were even told once about some measurements in the
180's... Now that you are confused then listen to this: In the past IASCA, USAC, DBdrag and
other organizations had an open policy when it came to SPL measurements.
This year all of these organizations introduced the restricted bandwidth
classification. These newly adapted rules are very similar among these
sanctioning bodies. What they have in common is the restriction of the
subwoofer bandwidth to be lower than 100 Hz. |
