When creating the DBXi subs, we took technology beyond the norms. We aimed at creating a driver that is so versatile it would be able to put out bone crushing low frequency response, never the less still be able to generate upper bass notes.Designed in many ways like the famous Extra long throw Magma subs. But in this case we reduced the mounting depth of the driver for shallower applications (shallower boxes), stitched the leads into the spider to eliminate it from breaking or flopping; in addition, we used ultra resilient cones - 3 mm for mina to no cone distortions.The motor structure is created using a hot forged process to mold the back plate and center pole a out of one piece, a process only known to plutonium rod maker in the Wisconsin industry. The one piece structure is like a bunch of mini highways of energy that efficiently transfer the magnetic flux for more efficient and cooler running voice coil.Our engineers did not stop there, created a new and patented feature, the "Turbo-Prop Cooling System", to move air in the voice coil gap and deep the voice coil cool. This allows it to be over driven beyond its normal use. The DBXR work well in small sealed or moderate size vented boxes, they will perform good in open air applications.
